I studied until eight in the morning. My kidney had started hurting. Because of several meetings, I was supposed to be in Parliament. Mr. Khosrow Tehranian [head of the Prime Minister’s Intelligence Office] came. He complained about the way he had been treated. He has resigned; I told him not to resign. Mr. [Seyyed Mahmoud] Doaei came with one of the exceptionally talented people who had made some innovations. The pain in my kidney had intensified,

I could not finish the meeting; I canceled the remaining meetings. I called a doctor. [Dr. Hadi Manafi] the Minister of Health and two former and former-former Ministers of Health, Dr. [Mohammad Reza] Arefi and Dr. [Musa] Zargar, and several other doctors came. The majority opinion was that the kidney problem was caused by sand or a stone. They injected a strong painkiller and took blood and urine for testing. I felt somewhat better. The pain returned. They came again and gave me a painkiller. By noon I could no longer bear it. I went to the Heart Hospital for imaging and treatment. Until near sunset, they took X-rays and examined me, and they kept relieving the pain with injections of painkillers. The last X-ray showed that the stone had passed through the kidney and was near the bladder. The pain also subsided. The family and the children came too. There was no need for me to stay in the hospital. I came home at night. The pain did not recur, and I slept comfortably through the night. We had no important news. This morning, we watched the film of an interview with Dr. [Sargun] Bet-Oshana [Gook Tapeh], the Assyrian [and Chaldean] [Christian] minority representative in Parliament, who has been arrested for being a Tudeh member; he has confessed and requested a pardon. The Assyrian leaders were supposed to come for a meeting, but it was canceled.
