I was at home until three-thirty in the afternoon. Ahmad Aqa came and spoke about Khosrow Tehrani's [head of the Prime Minister's Information Office] distress and that those who serve should not be made dissatisfied. He was upset that some people themselves accuse him of exercising personal influence and interference in the Imam's household and that his friends do not support him. He spoke of his meeting with Mr. [Mohammad-Mahdi] Rabbani Amlashi and his request to participate in the High Decision-Making Council.

In the afternoon, we had a meeting of the High Economic Council in the President's office. We are going through the final stages of action to control prices and distribute goods. Penal regulations for violations were discussed. The Revolutionary Council had a relatively comprehensive law. At night, we had a meeting there with a group from the Society of Seminary Teachers [of Qom] and the [Society of] Combatant Clergy [of Tehran]; the discussion was about the Islamic nature and binding force of laws and parliamentary resolutions after approval by the Guardian Council; they had some complaints about [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei and me. They criticized the economic issues that I raise in Friday prayer sermons. But they were unable to establish any specific case. It was decided that from now on, they would state their criticisms in each case; if they were justified, they would be corrected, and if we had a disagreement, we would ask the Imam. We had dinner there. I went to the Majlis late at night. I read the reports until midnight. I received the news and went to sleep. I was not feeling well; I spent the night distressed.
