Early in the morning, after the prayer, I read some Quran for my late father, in remembrance of his regular Quran recitations. They filmed various parts of the house. Some relatives and people gathered. Among them, I recounted memories of the past with jokes and amusement, and it was recorded on film. I lived here until the age of fourteen, and I have many memories and some traces of my time here remain; among them is a Hosseiniyeh that I built in later years, as well as a number of pistachio trees and a windcatcher that I built. At nine in the morning, we went to the mosque. I spoke to the people. Two helicopters came from Kerman and took us to Kerman. From above, the view of the pistachio farms of the Abad Plain of Nough and Rafsanjan is interesting. The companions were surprised that the people of Nough make good use of salty water and salty soil, and Dr. [Abbas-Ali] Zali [Deputy Minister of Agriculture] said that these soils had been sent to laboratories and had been determined to be unsuitable for agriculture, and that the fact that the people had revived them in this way was extraordinary.

In Kerman, before lunch, I met with members of the Islamic Republic [Party] and spoke to them. I answered their questions. We had a joint meeting with the governor and some clerics; it was not ineffective in resolving the grievances. The council of Region Six of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps came, and matters concerning the region were discussed and decisions were made. In the afternoon, at Takhti Stadium, I gave a detailed speech to the gathering of people. Toward the end of the speech, I had a stomachache. I did not let it show and finished speaking in such a way that no one noticed. Apparently, we had eaten leftover food. From there, we went to the airport. An interview was conducted with IRIB.

The commander of the Tharallah Division came and gave a report on the recent operation in northern Marivan. It became clear that the Iraqis had retreated out of fear and had evacuated several important peaks from their own territory in Shiler, which we had captured, and they had left behind a large amount of ammunition. I thanked and said goodbye to the Guards who were protecting and accompanying us, and we headed toward Tehran. The plane had been changed from Bandar Abbas because of the small runway at Kerman Airport, and a smaller plane had been brought. We ate dinner on the plane; at Tehran Airport, I gave an interview about the objectives and results of the trip and came home. I was tired; I went to sleep early.
