They had ambitious proposals to help Afghans and attract other non-Shia groups; I adjusted them.
In the evening, the Economic Council had a meeting. We approved to buy wheat from farmers, ten rials more expensive. We also allowed them to import car spare parts with non-oil export currency. The goal is to encourage exports and solve the problem of shortage of parts. I stayed in my office at night.
