I went to the Majlis early in the morning. Mr. Rabbani Amolshi and his brother Sadegh came; objections to the head of the Atomic Energy Organization were raised. Early in the morning, I went to the Majlis. Mr. Rabbani Amolshi and his brother Sadeq came; there were objections to the head of the Atomic Energy Organization [of Iran]. He had nothing important to say; it was repetitive: acting unilaterally and failing to pay attention to self-sufficiency and changing his views and methods.

Several members of the Society of Experimental Dentists came and complained about the Society of Dentists -who look down on them - and several legal problems. Colonel Izadi, the person in charge of procurement for the Ground Forces [of the Islamic Republic Army], came and defended his own work. He had proposed resigning. Those responsible for purchasing weapons are terrified in their work; because they are under suspicion.

Mr. Sobhi Tufaili, a member of the Lebanese council, came and complained about Mr. [Ali Akbar] Mohtashami and the problems with their work in Lebanon. I conveyed yesterday afternoon's decisions to him and asked them to have understanding and cooperation. He is a brave and outspoken man; he wants revolutionary action in Lebanon and believes that Mr. [Ali Akbar] Mohtashami, under Syria's influence, is acting conservatively.

Mr. [Hossein] Bankdar, acting head of the Tehran Municipality, and a group of municipal officials came. They gave a report on the municipality's work and wanted guidance and publicity and financial assistance. They spoke about the metro, the bus company [public bus service], traffic [and driving], parks, garbage, sewage, and so on. Colonel Ghaffarollahi came with a group of [officials] from the Ground Forces [Army]. They gave a report and complained about the ideological-political [department]. Mr. Bahrami, a friend from my seminary days, came. As usual, he is terrified of another purge. He is right.

In the afternoon, I rested a little. We had a meeting of the [Islamic Republic Party] Positions Reform Commission and then the Central Council of the [Islamic Republic Party], and at night a meeting of the party's Arbitration Council was held at the office of [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei. Unwarranted pressure on the members of the board of directors of the Carpet Company was raised. A case has been prepared by the General Inspection Office of the country, and the judicial authorities are harassing them on that basis. I said they should arrange a program for a trip to Sistan and Baluchestan. Late at night, I came home. Professor Ali Davari had come from Nowq. He had brought some pistachios, dry bread and kashk and... We gave a carton of fresh pistachios to Imam's household.
