I stayed home all day and studied. The Imam's wife and the families of Martyr Beheshti, Mr. Khamenei, Martyr Motahhari, and... had come to visit Effat. I spoke by phone with the Prime Minister about paying the money to Islamic Azad University and introducing the ministers for the IRGC, Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Welfare. It was decided that Mr. [Mohsen] Rafiqdoost would be nominated for the IRGC, and he reported that flooding in parts of the southern districts of Tehran had caused damage and also claimed lives. Regarding the plan to impeach the Minister of Housing in Parliament, it was decided that consultations would be held.

I spoke with the Minister of Mines about speeding up the appointment of a managing director for the coal mines in the Kerman region, with the Minister of Health about giving more attention to Mr. Talebian, the head of the Nahavand Department of Education, who had been injured in an accident and hospitalized, and with the Minister of Defense about directly overseeing the negotiations underway with an Englishman for the sale of weapons and F-14, F-4, and F-5 parts. He claims to have extensive capabilities and may have come to gather information.

At noon, news arrived that Mr. [Seyed Mohammad] Mousavi Khoeiniha, the Imam's representative for the Hajj, had been expelled from Saudi Arabia. They acted very boldly. For a week now, heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning have been falling in Tehran and many parts of the country, and since such rain is not usually expected at this time of year, we were caught off guard, and it has caused damage.
