I spoke by phone with Mr. [Mohammad Mohammadi] Reyshahri about the payment of the money taken from Mr. [Seyed Kazem] Shariatmadari, which, by Imam's order, was supposed to be given to the Islamic Republic Party. It became clear that it had been spent on other expenses, including the Islamic Propagation Office in Qom and the families of those who had been executed.

At noon, the members of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committees came, and I spoke with them about the war policy. Most of them were convinced and satisfied, and some also had points to raise. News arrived that Iraq had attacked Khark Island with missiles or bombs, and three oil facilities had been damaged, but the fire had been extinguished and oil loading was continuing. I discussed the program for hosting the Speaker of the North Korean Parliament, who will soon come at my invitation.
Dr. Yaghoubi Rafsanjani from the Central Bank came and proposed lowering the value of the rial against foreign currencies and issuing Islamic currency that would fluctuate along with inflation. We decided to examine it. Mr. Qaemi, the IRGC's security chief in Parliament, came, and I spoke with him about Lebanon and sending aid. A female Parliament employee whose husband had been arrested on charges of collaborating with the counterrevolution came and asked for help. I spoke with Ahmad Agha about matters we have to discuss with the Imam and about setting the time for the marriage ceremony of Mohsen.
