We went to the site of the old Freeman Dam; It is said that it was built centuries ago and it is said to be related to the time before Islam, but its structure has remained intact, but its reservoir has been almost filled with sediments and only one million and a half meters of water reservoir is left. One of their requests is to increase the height of the dam, which I accepted. Because the ability of the dam to bear more load is doubtful, I said that it should be raised gradually. The road between the dam and the factory, which is about four kilometers long, is very beautiful and covered with tall trees, it is a place for people to have fun because of the water streams, heavy shadows and great views. I emphasized that the tourist center should be strengthened.
We came back and I gave a short speech to the employees at the [Freeman Sugar] factory. A little girl read sweet poems about me. We had lunch and after some rest, we flew to Mashhad. On the way back, [Mr. Ismail Mofidi], the governor explained the characteristics of the plains along the route.
We all went to the university meeting hall and participated in the gathering of academics and scholars. They also came from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The Director General of Education and the representative of Faqih Governor and the presidents of Ferdowsi University and University of Medical Sciences reported and proposed demands. I also spoke. I accepted the requests and gave them recommendations.
We returned to the residence. I was very tired and felt feverish. Dr. Milani came. He examined and gave painkillers and capsules. The representatives of Khorasan came and asked for an increase in the credits of the province and attention to the needs of the city of Mashhad and the division of Khorasan province. Mr. Tabasi opposed the division of the province. It was decided to become an expert. It was suggested to strengthen the administration of the cities.
The scholars and imams of Mashhad came for dinner. We had no plans and just had dinner together. Some came for special work. I studied and wrote memoirs until ten o'clock at night. Efat called from Mustafa Khani's garden and said hello. I was tired, I slept.
