I went to the parliament early in the morning and read the reports. I gave an interview about the martyrdom of Martyr Ashrafi [Esfahani]. The members of the Lebanese Hezbollah Council came and complained about the return of Mr. [Ali Akbar] Mohtashmi [Pour] to Iran and the IRGC's lack of cooperation in Lebanon and the lack of funds and resigned.

I went to the parliament early in the morning and read the reports. I gave an interview about the martyrdom of Martyr Ashrafi [Esfahani]. The members of the Lebanese Hezbollah Council came and complained about the return of Mr. [Ali Akbar] Mohtashmi [Pour] to Iran and the lack of cooperation of the IRGC in Lebanon and the lack of funds and resigned. In each case, I explained and returned them satisfied. An amount of ten thousand dollars had arrived from Kuwait to help the Lebanese struggle, which I gave to them.

We had a meeting of representatives of Tehran to listen to the report on the progress of the metro work, but it turned out that there was no progress. In the evening, Mr. [Mohsen] Kongerlo [prime minister's advisor] came and said that the intermediary had told that the Americans had made the sending of weapons conditional on the phone call of "William Buckley", the hostage in Lebanon, with [George] Bush [the vice president of the United States]. I told him to say that we do not have such a relationship with the kidnappers and if America proves its goodwill, we will enter into negotiations to solve the hostage problem. In the evening, the news arrived that the same person that America wants to contact [him] was executed by the Islamic Jihad organization in retaliation for Israel's attack on Tunisia.

The presiding committee of the parliament had a meeting until Maghrib. In the evening, the chiefs of forces were my guests in the parliament. Due to some differences, the meeting [of the heads of state] is not fruitful. The war, Lebanon and the Persian Gulf were discussed. I slept in the parliament at night. Khark Island was also attacked today, but the damage was minimal. It is attacked almost every day.
