Full text of the diary:
Dr. [Kazem] Ghodsi came from Mashhad.Explaining the importance of genetic sciences, he asked for the adoption of a general policy in the Expediency Council, to concentrate, direct, and strengthen the research and teaching of these strategic sciences and techniques, and said that when he was studying in England, Mr. [Rahman] Dadman, [Hamidreza] Jalaeipour, [Mohsen] Mirdamadi and a group of others, were trying to strengthen the current of nationalism and laism, and he invited the likes of Mr. [Abdolkarim] Soroush toThey did. He called for the invitation of committed Iranian graduates abroad who are now isolated.
Mr. Mohammad Hashemi Kashkuei came to say goodbye and is on his way to Umrah. [Members] of the board of directors of the Naja Housing Cooperative [Police Force] came to the Tehran Municipality to follow up on the request to solve their land problem. Messrs. [Hossein] Mahlouji, [former Minister of Mines and Metals], [Ali] Shokriz and [Mahmoud] Jamali, [former representative of Kashan], came and said that the reception of Ayatollah Khamenei in Kashan was very good and they expected him to help complete the water supply project to Kashan, which has not yet been promised.
Mr. [Seyyed Kazem] Nurmfidi, the Friday Imam of Gorgan, telephoned to ask for help in solving the problem of the mid-term candidates in Golestan province who had been disqualified by the Guardian Council, and said that no matter how many doors they knocked on, they did not get any results.

In the evening, Dr. [Mustafa] Moin [Minister of Science] and Dr. [Jafar] Tawfiqi, [Deputy Minister of Science] came. They asked me to help force the Islamic Azad University to comply with the expansion restrictions and not to use a three-person group to approve the majors. I said, "If you respond quickly to their suggestions, they don't need a group of three, even though it's legal." They complain about the lack of research credits and are a little worried that girls will be ahead of boys in acceptance. In this year's entrance exam, 62 percent of girls and 38 percent of boys have been accepted, which has created problems in providing dormitories, although there are still more boys in universities, but this trend creates problems in employment and marriage.
In Afghanistan, the Taliban are fleeing quickly and the United Front takes their place and is advancing towards Kabul. It seems that the United States is worried about Iran taking advantage of the victory of the United Front, because Pakistan and the United States still have no alternative.
An American Airbus plane with 255 passengers and nine crew members crashed in New York City, killing all on board, creating a state of emergency and panic in the United States, and disrupting the plans of the United Nations General Assembly.
