Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – November 11, 1992

They brought things home. I did it until nine o'clock in the morning. I went to the study center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The participants came to the Islamic Development Bank conference. [Mr. Ahmad Mohammad Ali], the bank president, gave a short speech and Mr. [Mohsen] Nourbakhsh, [Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance] gave a report. I also talked about the development of the bank's resources and the possible work for the bank.

Then I had a short meeting with [Mr. Fethullah Jameel], Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, [Mr. Kabi Eliashoruti], Minister of Economy of Comoros, and [Mr. Kerfala Yanes], President of the Central Bank of Guinea, who had a letter from their president. Then, in the other hall, I shook hands with each participant. Then I met with Mr. Hamed Al-Ghabd, Secretary General of the Islamic Conference Organization. I explained about our expectations from the upcoming extraordinary conference, which will be held at our request, in the city of Jeddah [Saudi Arabia], in order to help the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and our opinion regarding the issue of Abu Musa Island, which asked for an explanation in every case.

I reached my office at half past eleven. I had a meeting with the members of Peshgaman Company who help with the economic affairs and employment of martyrs. They asked for help from the government, such as loans and many concessions, which I promised to help.

By eight o'clock in the evening, I did the remaining work and came home. In the reports, the agreement surrounding the war in Bosnia for a ceasefire from tomorrow draws attention.
