We had an open session of the Majlis. Before the agenda, I spoke about the crash of the Algerian plane.

The bodies of the Algerians were being carried past the Majlis for the funeral procession. For their sake, a recess was called, and we participated in the ceremony. A large crowd of people were there. They were crying and chanting slogans. Mr. Hassan Rouhani, the representative of Semnan, and the Algerian Minister of Transport, who was heading the Algerian delegation, spoke. We clearly identified Iraq as responsible, but the Algerians have not yet expressed an opinion. I also thanked the people.

The agenda was the foreign trade bill, and Mr. Mohammad Mousavi Khoeiniha continued managing the session. I was unwell and went to rest and slept a little. Fati, who was also in my office, was editing the political analyses of the party's members.

In the evening, we had a class on the positions of the Islamic Republican Party. The student branch of the party came and wanted a solution for the conscription of the branch's officials; no undue privilege should be given.

The governors – who have had a seminar on national divisions these days – came, and I spoke to them. They have proposed that the country have 36 provinces and 9 regions. A group from the political-ideological department of the army came and complained about Mr. Safai's position. I came home at night. Today, we have had an operation in Fakkeh in which seven hundred people have been taken prisoner, and ninety tanks and personnel carriers have been captured.
