In the morning, [Mr. Natiq Noori] the Minister informed that the Guardian Council's opinion is that we will not hold elections in the second phase of around thirty cities - which it has not had time to deal with - and they will fall into an interim period; including Qom and Isfahan.
I disagreed with this opinion and said that it would cause discord and the Guardian Council would be accused of following a political line. Through Haj Ahmad Agha, I also sent a message to the Imam. In the evening, I was informed that they have paid attention to the existing issues and the chosen solution is to delay the second phase elections for a week until the full investigation is done.
In the evening, Dr. Vahid [Dastjerdi] and Dr. [Hadi] Manafi came. Dr. Vahid [Dastjardi] said about the difference between the students of Takheki Vahdat and Islamic Associations in the elections and about the rule of the liberal line on the University of Tehran. Dr. Manafi [Minister of Health] is also going to the World Health Conference in Geneva. He gave a description of the country's health situation and said that in twenty years, Iran's population will reach 80 million people with the current birth rate.
