Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – May 15, 1982

I spent the whole day at home, reading and resting. At noon, Mr. Behzad Nabavi came and was concerned about his presentation to the Parliament for the position of Minister of Heavy Industries, fearing that opponents might raise allegations of ideological deviation and leftism; he asked me to defend him ideologically.

In the afternoon, the commander of the guards for the Imam's compound and Jamaran arrived and raised the problems he had regarding the execution of his duties. Ahmad Aqa also came and conveyed the Imam's view regarding the candidates for the Assembly of Experts. I also explained about the Supreme Council of Education and Culture, as well as the plan that was approved in the consultative meeting of the heads of the three branches, which the Cultural Revolution Headquarters had reported to the Imam.

We had no important news. Members of the Isfahan [Islamic] Republican Party Council came and gave a report on their status, and we had discussions regarding the party's intellectual needs.
