Then Mr. Seyed Ya'qub Khalkhali came and spoke about the morale of Mr. Shariati, the candidate for the Islamic Consultative Assembly from Bouin Zahra—who was barred from entering Parliament due to the annulment of the election there by the Revolutionary Council's six-member committee.
Messrs. [Mohsen] Rezaei and [Reza] Seifollahi from IRGC Intelligence came and provided a report on the situation of the counter-revolutionaries and coup plotters, and insisted on taking delivery of the Islamic Documentation Center (Markaz-e Asnad-e Eslami). Mr. Khamenei is opposed to handing it over. They say that a proper intelligence organization must first be created, and then this center should be handed over. They also had some discussions regarding the new plan for the intelligence organization.
In the afternoon, I had no major meetings and spent most of my time writing an article on "Politics in Nahj al-Balagha." I wrote eight pages, and for now, it remains unfinished. I spoke with Mr. Khamenei over the phone; it was agreed that he would accompany me tomorrow to visit the Imam.
