After the morning prayer and getting the news of the day, the most important of which is the growing tension in Soviet-Lithuanian relations and, as a result, in West-East relations, we went to Jazira airport and took the Shahin [aircraft] to Bandar Chabahar [in Sistan and Baluchistan province]. After the morning prayer and getting the news of the day, the most important of which is the growing tension in Soviet-Lithuanian relations and, as a result, in the West-East relations, we went to Jazira airport and took the Shahin [aircraft] to Bandar Chabahar [in Sistan and Baluchistan province]. A group of accompanying women also came. An official reception was held at Nahaja Air Base [= Army Air Force]. The ladies stayed at the base and we flew with several helicopters to the village of "Orken" in the Dashtbari region.
In this area, the recent flood has caused a lot of damage. Most of the infrastructure and agricultural facilities are traditional and backward. Most of the people are illiterate and do not have electricity, water, schools, sanitation, and proper roads.
Although the condition of the land and air is very good and they have enough water, they are poor. They said that the alfalfa crop there gives about 20 chins per year. I visited the muzadari farm; It had a good load. Vehicles and palm trees also get better; It is strange that people are so poor. I went to the house of one of the villagers; It had only one room and nine family members lived in that room. The local prayer leader was their spokesperson.
From there, we went to the site of the dam under construction. The construction of the dam started before the revolution, but it is not finished yet. The construction of this dam can be very effective in the development of the region. It has a capacity of about 200 million cubic meters of water, which is seasonal water and will drink about 10 thousand hectares of land. If the needed trucks arrive soon, next year will be over; I promised support.
Then we went to the village of Garm Bid. The people were in a situation similar to the previous village; With the difference that they chanted better here. In the village of Orkan, they did not chant.
We returned to the base at half past two in the afternoon, with an hour delay in the schedule. After lunch, prayer and a short rest, we went to visit the dock under construction of "Iranbandar" of the Navy. Then we flew to the city of Chabahar and I gave a speech in the meeting of the people of the city at Farooq Azam Conservatory. The crowd was not very enthusiastic, it was not bad either. [Mr. Abdul Rahman Malazehi], Imam of Ahl-e-Sunna [Chabahar], wanted to say that [Mr. Mahmoud Hojjati], the governor [of Sistan and Baluchistan], took advantage because of the rivalry between Shia and Sunni!
We visited the Shahid Kalantari wharf and the process of emptying ships with Afghan porters. They said that they earn five hundred tomans a day, which is more than twice the wages of agricultural workers in the region. It is supposed to be a free port there.
Then we returned to the base with a delay by car. I gave a speech to the personnel of the [Konark Airport] base. We had dinner and then went to the meeting of the provincial [Sistan and Baluchistan] officials. [Mr. Mahmoud Hojjati], the governor gave a report and mentioned the talents and needs and I spoke. I emphasized on the extraction of water and drainage of Zabul lands, the faster closing of four dams in the south, and compensation for the backwardness in amenities and water supply, and I promised my support. I watched the news of the two television networks and slept tiredly.
