Until half past ten in the morning, I used to study at home for Friday prayer sermons. I also called Rafsanjan and asked about the family. I arrived at Tehran University at eleven o'clock. I gave two sermons, one about the social justice of Islam in the fight against racial discrimination in the world, and the other about the issues of the day of war, the Khyber operation, [the use of] the floating bridge in the Majnoon Islands, the actions of counter-revolutionary elements abroad, the criteria for selecting members of parliament, and the use of chemical weapons. I feel a slight fever. Last night, the heating of the house had run out of gasoil and the house was cold.

In the evening, Mr. Dr. [Abdullah] Jasbi came. He gave a report on the situation of the Islamic Azad University and the Islamic Republican Party and defended himself against the criticisms directed at them. I gave notes and comments. Hamid Lahoti and Faeze also came. Fazeh made dinner. I got information from Hamid about Rafsanjan's health condition.

At night, I called the Najaf camp; Their condition is good. They said that they shot down two Iraqi planes today. One is in the [mad] island and the other is in Hur. I spoke to the Prime Minister on the phone and asked them to inform Mr. [Sidkamal] Kharazi to invite foreign journalists to see the Majnoon Islands.
