I was sleeping in my office at night. After prayer, I worked until seven in the morning. The members of the presidium of the Assembly of Experts had breakfast in my office and we discussed the agenda of the expert meetings.
At eight o'clock we went to the assembly hall. I greeted the expert members. At quarter past eight, the meeting became official. Mr. [Ali] Meshkini [Chairman of the Council of Leadership Experts] gave a short speech, and then the elections of the Board of Directors and commissions were held, which took up all the time of today's meeting. I also remained as the first vice president. There was no major change in people.
At noon, I spent lunch with experts in the library hall. Imam Juma Neishabur bitterly criticized the change of the governor of that city. At noon, Mr. Sanjaghi came. He gave more information about the chemical bombing of Sardasht city. About two thousand people were injured and ten people were martyred. This city was bombed yesterday.
Mr. [Sidjalil] Seyedzadeh came and brought the draft memorandum with the Nicaraguan delegation. In the evening, Mr. Barik Bin came and complained about the representative of Qazvin and was complaining about the dismissal of the governor of Qazvin for no reason. Imam Juma Bakhtran [= Kermanshah] came and demanded to strengthen the defense of the city and pay more attention to Iraqi Kurdish immigrant scholars. Mr. [Vaez] Tabasi came and he is deeply affected and complains about the dismissal of Mr. Kopai, the governor of Khorasan and other dismissals.
I gave a dinner in honor of Nicaraguan guests at their residence. The building is expropriated and has been left at the disposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for foreign guests. In the negotiations, we got many explanations about the situation in Nicaragua and promised oil aid. We interviewed and escorted to the airport runway. Their culture minister was sick. I reached home around twelve o'clock.
