I stayed home the entire day. I had a few meetings at home and followed up on matters by phone. They also brought the reports from Parliament. Mr. Mohammad Ali Taheri, a talented young man with several weapons-related inventions, came and mentioned that Ministry of Defense officials were not attending to his work. It was decided that he be introduced to the Minister of Defense.

To prepare for the Friday prayer sermons and the lesson on the positions of the [Islamic Republican] Party, I studied parts of the book *Rasa'il* and *Al-Mahajjat al-Bayda'* regarding hoarding, and I extracted good material from them.

In the afternoon, Mohammad Taqi, our sharecropper in Bahraman, came and gave a report on his work. I gave a reward to him and his companion. He mentioned that after the Revolution, the situation of the people in the villages of Nugh has improved greatly, and everyone is satisfied and loyal.

Ahmad Aqa came and said that the Imam wishes for me to emphasize the priority of the war with Iraq, whether in Parliament or elsewhere.

Mr. [Seyyed Hossein] Mousavi Tabrizi, the Revolutionary Prosecutor-General, came and we discussed the disagreements among the judicial officials. The Imam has tasked me and Mr. Khamenei with addressing their disputes and resolving matters. Mr. Mousavi [Tabrizi] believes that the Supreme Judicial Council is weak and the management staff of the prisons is disorganized. I expressed criticism regarding the improper treatment of prisoners' families. It was agreed that this would be investigated. Fati's friend brought us some cherries from their home garden.

Mr. [Abdol-Karim] Mousavi Ardebili and Mr. [Mohammad] Emami Kashani called to convince me to agree to Mr. Emami Kashani's resignation from Parliament so he could become the head of the Court of Administrative Justice; under Mr. [Mousavi] Ardebili's insistence, I agreed.
