Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – December 28, 1983

I went to the parliament early in the morning to participate in the program [and budget] committee. I was in the meeting until almost noon. I participated in the joint meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Guardian Council in the President's office. They disagree on the punishment bill. The Guardian Council had rejected the bill due to the lack of signatures of three members of the Supreme Judicial Council. I did not accept the objection and notified it for implementation; Now that it is known that the objection of the Guardian Council was not included and this time they have problems in terms of compliance with Sharia. In the past, due to those fundamental imaginary forms, they did not announce their opinion within the deadline. It was decided to solve the matter with the help of Imam. The Supreme Judicial Council is right. Lunch was served there. I went to the assembly to rest.

In the evening, the board of the parliament had a meeting. On the first night, Mr. Janati [Chairman of the Supreme Council of Islamic Propaganda] came to see my studies on the Qur'an, "The Key to the Qur'an". I gave them explanations. He took a sample that the High Council of Propaganda [Islamic] works to complete it. These are the collection of notes that I have made from the Quran during the last three years of my imprisonment in Evin. The purpose of this work is to prepare a complete culture of the topics raised in the Quran, which is empty. I was planning to continue the work for the final adjustment myself after the freedom, but the revolution did not give me such an opportunity and a group of students in the radio and television as well as the propaganda unit of the party have done the job of separating the slips, and these days there are a lot of requests from publishing centers to use it. He was also worried about the war.

At night, the heads of the three powers were my guests. Since Eft has female guests tomorrow - the Imam's family and the Jamarani family - it was not possible for him to entertain them today, so I entertained them in the Majlis. We discussed the prisoners of Towab. I proposed that they be released and finally it was approved. It was decided that the Supreme Judicial Council will appoint a group to investigate and determine the rewards and determine the criteria. In other cases, a decision was made. Regarding the Minister of Information, Mr. Fazel Harandi and Mr. Dari Najaf Abadi were also mentioned. It was decided to get an opinion from the imam because of their partisanship. I slept in the parliament at night.
