Ayatollah Montazeri and Mr. Seyyed Hadi Hashemi called from Qom and expressed their concern about calling Hashemi to the Ministry of Information and asked me to prevent it. I spoke with Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei. Like me, they were of the opinion that he should not be arrested, and they agreed with Mr. Montazeri's opinion - that if necessary, an agent should be sent to interrogate him in Qom.
I asked Ahmad Agha to send a message to the Imam. No phone call yet. I spoke with Mr. Ray Shahri. His opinion is that it should be agreed. At the end of the night, I talked to Mr. Ahmad. He was supposed to answer tomorrow.
