I stayed in the meeting until 9:30 in the morning, and then in my office, Dr. Hadi talked about the issues of Mr. Montazeri's house. Yusufpour and Shahab brought samples of commercial satellite photos from Iraq. They asked for funds to buy a complete map of Iraq.

In the afternoon Mr. [Mohammed Javad] Larijani [International Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] came. He gave the report of his trip to Pakistan and consulted on the issues of Afghanistan, Kuwait and America. One of the IRGC commanders - whose leg was amputated in the war - came. One of [my son's] friends is Mehdi. I helped him.

In the evening Mr. Mansouri came with Zufan and talked about Iranian immigrants to other countries. They offered kindness and constructive treatment. I agreed. About one million two hundred thousand Iranians are abroad. They also told about the dangers of Afghan immigrants to Iran.

School officials of Iraqi immigrants came to Iran. They demanded that the students' essays should be in Arabic so that they could get marks. I commented that it is good until the end of the war. On the first night [Mr. Sadegh al-Mahdi] the Prime Minister of Sudan and his companions came to meet. Discussions

They cooperated and strengthened relations in general and within the limits of necessity. I worked in my office until half past eight.

I told Mr. [Gholamreza] Shafii, the Minister of Industries, to give the IRGC facilities for war issues. Agha Mohammadi came and brought a letter from Jalal Talabani [Leader of the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan], which contained a message from [Abd al-Rahman] Ghasemlu [Leader of the Democratic Party of Iran's Kurdistan] indicating his readiness to end hostilities with Iran.
