[Members] of the Iraqi opposition conference organizing council came. They reported the work situation, plan, problems and needs. Due to the opposition of some internal Islamic currents, they did not invite the Iraqi Communist Party. I said that this might cause the stubbornness of the Soviet Union and the communist countries in supporting the Ba'ath of Iraq and create problems in the way of winning the war. It is better to invite them and I advised that an effort should be made not to cause conflict in the conference.
Mr. [Syed Hossein] Mousaviyan came. He gave a report on the administrative situation of the parliament and said that the responsibilities of the secretaries of the parliament's commissions are low and that it is necessary to fill their vacant time. In the evening, the board of directors had a meeting and as usual, the agenda of the next week of the parliament was determined.
We were the guests of Ahmad Agha on the night of the chiefs of power. Imam also participated. ABC radio (A.B.C) of America asked me for a live and direct interview and it was accepted. The imam agreed to provide military assistance in case of Sudan's request to solve the problem of its civil war in the south.
I described the meeting with Ayatollah Montazeri. I requested that Seyed Hadi [Hashemi] be waived. They asked us to get closer to them in order to control them. The Imam complained about the delay of the operation and said that they might be doing something political and want to get more things from the war. I said that the units insist on providing enough needs before the operation.
We decided to have a private dinner meeting with Sadegh al-Mahdi [Prime Minister of Sudan] at Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei's house. The imam stressed on the need to deal more with the flood victims. The Prime Minister informed that in today's Iraqi airstrike, the pump house of Tenge Fani was damaged and oil pumping to Tehran and Tabriz refineries was reduced.
