In the morning, I went from home to the Civil Registry Office to open a large computer site. Mr. [Ali Akbar] Rahmani, [Deputy Minister of Interior and Head of Civil Registration Organization] and Mr. [Mohammad Ebrahim] Tariqat explained. 57 million and 600 thousand new birth certificates of the Islamic Republic have been issued and more than one million people are left. About two and a half million Iranians are abroad and the rest are inside. A large population information database with the widest network in Asia was opened. As a starting point, I entered the profile of the imam, leader and myself into the device. It cost twenty million dollars in foreign currency and it is planned that all information and documents will be entered into the device within a year and a half. To resolve the differences of opinion, including the defense credits, we finished the work. Considering the bad situation of oil prices, the budget is still not bad.

The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution had a meeting at night. We completed the rectorship of Khwaja Nasiruddin Tousi University and several other resolutions, but the rectorship of [Ferdousi] University of Mashhad, which faced the opposition of Mr. [Abbas Waez] Tabasi and the representatives, remained unfinished. I stayed the night in my office.
