I studied at home until ten o'clock. I went to the university to attend Friday prayers and listened to sermons on social justice and on the results of the trip to India. Mr Jalaluddin Farsi also spoke before the sermons about the 28th of Mordad coup. Mr Farsi gave some news about Iraq which, if true, would herald an important development in the future.
In the evening, Mr Mohsen Rezaei, who had returned from the front, came to the house and presented the new operation plan. It bears little resemblance to the staff's plan and, if well executed, could yield significant results.
The [Army] Advisory Office phoned to say that the attack on Kharg the day before yesterday was with a new type of air-to-ground missile; they fired again, but it fell into the sea. However, Mr Mohsen Rezaei said that our forces in Abadan, minutes before the missile struck the Kharg facilities, saw two missiles launch from south of Basra, drawing a fiery line in the sky. If this report is correct, the Iraqis have a surface-to-surface missile with a range of over two hundred kilometres, which is probably a Russian Scud. Early in the evening, Ahmad-Agha came and I discussed several important matters with him, and relayed the news that Mr Farsi had given to the Imam. Incidentally, as agreed, I passed the news on to Mr I also told [Mohsen] Rezaei, the commander of the Pasdaran, to be prepared for a possible new situation.
