I slept after dawn. I went to the parliament at seven in the morning. At quarter past eight, the public meeting - the first meeting of 1968 - began. Before the order, I talked about Ayatollah Montazeri. We worked until almost noon. After praying and reciting the Quran, I slept. I did office work until four o'clock.

Mr. [Hussein] Hosni Saadi [Army Ground Force Commander] came. He reported the lines of the fronts and inquired about changing the color of [army] uniforms and asked for help for various needs. Mr. [Alireza] Afshar came. He said about the work problems of the Vice-President of Human Resources of the [Armed Forces] General Staff.

I reached home at quarter past seven. The children were happy. I brought a video camera for the kids that Mr. [Sidjalal] Sadatian had brought as a souvenir. They were happy. After breaking the fast, I was not in the mood for work as usual and sat down to watch TV programs.
