I went to my office at nine in the morning. I was informed that this morning, fourteen of our fighter jets bombed Camp Ashraf, the headquarters of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) in Iraq; one of them did not return, which later turned out to have crashed, and two of its pilots were captured. It was announced that the bombing took place following the MKO's incursion into two border villages and in pursuit of them.

Dr. [Hassan] Habibi, [First Vice President and member of the Guardian Council] came. He reported on the Guardian Council's work in the elections and consulted about the future. Dr. [Seyed Mohammad Reza] Hashemi [Golpayegani, Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution] came for the orders of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. In the afternoon, I attended the Cabinet meeting; we did not have major resolutions.

Dr. Velayati, [Foreign Minister], informed that the MKO, in reaction to being bombed, attacked two Iranian missions in Switzerland and France.
