Until twelve o'clock last night when we were awake, the sighting of the Shawwal crescent was not confirmed, so we got up at dawn and had breakfast with Yaser.
At eight o'clock in the morning, they called from my office and said that the sighting of the crescent has been confirmed in Qom for Mr. [Syed Mohammad Reza] Golpaygani and [Sheikh Mohammad Ali] Araki, [from the great authorities of Taqlid], and people are preparing for the Eid al-Fitr prayer. I called the leadership; They said that they are busy examining their documents; Because it is suspicious in some ways. Their document is Bakhtran [= Kermanshah], where [Mr. Muhammad Hossein Zarandi], Imam of Bakhtran Friday, said that the martyrdom was from the members of the Badr army in Iraq, who said they had seen it in the region, but after summoning them, one of them firmly said that they had seen it, and four people were in doubt and they did not break the fast themselves.
I myself contacted Mr. [Mohammed Hossein] Zarandi, Imam of Bakhtran Friday, and he said the same thing. They reported from the office that people have gathered in a mosque in Sar Asiyab and Dolab [Tehran] and are waiting for the Eid prayer. Mr. [Mohammedreza] Tousli, [head of Imam Khomeini's office], called and said that four people in Qom claimed to have seen and testified before Ayatollah Golpaygani. Two people in Isfahan testified to Asid Mohammad Baqer Abtahi and he also confirmed them for Ayatollah [Syed Mohammad Reza] Golpaygani. A cleric also saw a sighting in Golpaygan and based on this testimony, Mr. Golpaygani ruled that it was Eid al-Fitr. Of course, it was necessary to coordinate with the leadership before, but they did not do so and caused problems.
We spoke twice with Ayatollah Khamenei on the phone; Finally, we came to the conclusion that Eid al-Fitr should be announced, but since the mosque in Tehran is not ready, it was decided that Eid prayers should be held in mosques. All in all, it was a bad act.
Mohsen came from a trip to Belgium. He had gone to examine Emad and enroll in the doctoral course, which he left both half-finished. They had lunch here. In the evening, a group of members of the Imam's office came to visit Eid. A group of relatives also came.
