From nine in the morning to one in the afternoon, we determined the limits of the duties of the political and overseas vice-chairs in the [Sadasima] supervisory council meeting. In this matter, Mr. [Mohammed Hasan] Zouragh and [Abul Qasim] Qasimzadeh had a difference of opinion. The members of the council were my guests in the afternoon.

I told the head of my office to visit Saeed Montazeri, the son of Ayatollah Montazeri, in Labafinejad Hospital. He was working for construction jihad and was injured in Majnoon Island and apparently lost one of his eyes.

After meeting with [Colonel] Sayad [Shirazi], Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei expressed his displeasure over the phone with the weakness of the program and asked me to get a time from the Imam to talk to him about the [Islamic Republic] party. We agreed to meet the day after tomorrow.

In the evening, Mr. Prime Minister complained about the President's [Ayatollah Khamenei] circular to the government bodies regarding the introduction of the departmental performance monitoring unit, and he did not consider it one of the President's rights. I told him not to react.

I read and did the reports and work of the parliament. There was no important content in the reports. I talked about the war with Ayatollah Khamenei on the phone. One of my relatives, who came to work at Panzdeh Khordad Institute and expected me to spend more time with him, made my time bitter and hindered the progress of my work. Finally, he asked for a typewriter for the institute's office!
