Full Text of the Daily Entry:

Dr. [Seyyed Ahmad] Motamedi, the Minister of Post, Telegraph, and Telephone, came. He explained the problems and delays in several important areas within the ministry, saying that due to a year of vacancy and the unclear situation of the minister, as well as the slow progress during Dr. [Mohammad Reza] Aref's tenure, projects related to satellite programs, mobile phones, fiber optics, and cable production have fallen behind. He expressed concern about the parliament’s inquiry and investigation, although he does not consider it directed at him, viewing it as personal vendettas.

Mr. Alireza Nouri, [the representative from Tehran] and brother of Abdullah Nouri, [the former Minister of Interior], came. He explained his brother's situation and requested his release, suggesting that I and the heads of the branches write a letter to the leader to advocate for him. He also mentioned that most representatives prefer Dr. [Reza] Malekzadeh to replace Dr. [Mohammad] Farhadi, [the Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education], in the new cabinet.

In the afternoon, Dr. [Hadi] Manafi, [the head of Mehr Hospital], and Dr. [Mohammad] Vafaee came for a visit. We discussed the situation of hospitals and the country, and Dr. Manafi mentioned problems with repairing his house, which has been delayed for over ten years due to disputes with contractors.

Mr. [Seyyed Ali Asghar] Hajazi from the leader's office came. He brought a text that the leader wants to write in response to my letter regarding reconsideration of the investigation and inquiry, for consultation; I provided him with my comments. The public relations announcement from the Expediency Council in response to criticisms has received widespread coverage in both domestic and foreign media.

The Israeli Security Council has decided to allow the army to assassinate several Palestinian figures. The UN Security Council has extended the oil-for-food program for Iraq for another five months. Britain and the US, faced with opposition from Russia, were forced to withdraw the smart sanctions plan, which was seen as a victory for Iraq. A Russian airplane, with around 140 passengers and crew, crashed, resulting in all fatalities.
