  Seven Left newspapers in a letter to Mr Khatami have criticized the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council in preventing the newspapers from paying Mr Taheri's letter.

The office of Ayatollah Montazeri has responded to the leadership's statements [in response to Mr. Taheri's resignation].

In the domestic and foreign media, the discussion of the recent statement is extensive, and a spokesman for the State Department and even the second Khordadis have condemned it.  
The issue of Mr. Jalaluddin Taheri and [Hashem] Aghajari is still debated.  In a letter to Mr Khatami, the seven left newspapers criticized the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council in preventing the newspapers from paying the letter to Mr Taheri, [former Imam of Isfahan], and the council has said.  The office of Ayatollah Montazeri has responded to the leadership's statements [in response to Mr. Taheri's resignation].  The discussion of the assembly regulations of the Assembly continues.
