امیر عبداللهیان

"Hossein Amir-Abdollahian," the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, has provided explanations regarding his diplomatic efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, making it difficult to understand his precise intentions.

He quoted "Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah," the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, stating that if the group does not take preemptive action against Israel today, it will have to fight the Israeli army in the streets of Beirut tomorrow.

Mr. Amir-Abdollahian also made a similar statement regarding the situation in Iran, emphasizing: "Today, if we do not defend Gaza, tomorrow we will have to defend ourselves against the bombs of the Zionist regime in children's hospitals in our own cities."

Do these remarks indicate a serious intention from Hezbollah and Iran to enter the war directly? Israel and its allies view Hezbollah's entry into the conflict as a sign of Iran's direct involvement in the dispute. Consequently, if Hezbollah is seriously and widely drawn into the ongoing war, Iran's involvement should also be counted as inevitable.

The notion that, following the destruction of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, it will be time to confront Hezbollah and Iran is not unrealistic. However, is the end of the tumultuous conflict that has persisted for decades in the Middle East between Israel and the Islamic Republic destined to lead to an immediate life-and-death struggle?

Hezbollah's entry into the war signifies the beginning of a comprehensive war. The outcome of such a widespread conflict, if one can envision a winning or losing side, is an indescribable hell.

Does Mr. Amir-Abdollahian not understand this? Or does he recognize it but consider it unavoidable? If he is unaware, then his assessment of the balance of power in the region is completely erroneous. If he knows and views it as unavoidable, what fate is he planning for our people? Are all those promises and assurances about reaching new heights ultimately destined to result in the country's involvement in an infinitely destructive and fatal war?

The path to overcoming the historical crisis in the Middle East does not and cannot pass through war! A dam should not have been allowed to break. Now that it has, we must not open the way for other dams to break as well. How? By presenting an initiative to solve the Palestinian issue through diplomacy and being ready to move beyond all previous notions! Is further explanation necessary? Of course! But for now, I do not have the patience to endure another wave of pressure and insults!
