Abbas Palizdar, a member of the Judiciary's Seventh Majlis, said in a detailed interview with Iran Watch about Saeed Mortazavi:
Firstly, you should remove the gentleman from his name. It is a pity that we put Saeed's name on him. He is a person who does not even care about human lives. At some point, you give an order and you don't care if people's lives are in danger. Again, one says that you do not see that scene of the crime. He thinks that I am saying it and that they are in a different form.
But when you yourself are at the scene of the crime and hit Zahra Kazemi, you yourself hit the X's and the Eagles. This person is a criminal and a murderer. He is mentally ill at all. In my opinion, the right thing to do was to remove him from the scene and the management of the country, which he did. However, in order to purge him personally, he was taken to the Supreme Court and acquitted.
How did they deal with you?
When a trial had not yet been held and a verdict had not yet been issued, he said several times: "You will not get out of here alive and I will pull the stool from under your feet. I will execute you myself." Even if this had actually happened by Saeed Mortazavi, I was ready for it.
But what about my family? To my wife and children who asked for an appointment, she said, "Madam, how many children do you have? Madam, don't feed yourself with 4 children. Go find a father for your kids. At the very least, Palizdar's sentence is death."
