The Istanbul Prosecutor's Office also announced that, within the framework of the ongoing investigation by the country's Public Prosecutor's Office, the Court of First Instance and the Criminal Court of First Instance decided: As part of the financial crimes investigation, the suspect Ekrem Imamoglu was arrested on charges of creating and managing a criminal organization, receiving bribes, abuse of influence, illegally recording personal information, and manipulating tenders.
Despite the strong suspicion that Ekrem Imamoglu was involved in supporting an armed terrorist organization, the request has been rejected at this stage, as an arrest warrant has already been issued for him for financial crimes and is not needed at this time.
