Mehmet Pahlavan, a lawyer who defended Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu in a recent investigation

Taşkin Özer, Republican People's Party of Turkey (CHP) Representative: Mehmet Pahlavan, a lawyer who defended Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu in a recent investigation, has been arrested for fabricated reasons.

A Turkish newspaper reported that the prosecutor's office has issued an arrest warrant for Imamoglu's lawyer on charges of money laundering and violating some financial laws.

Imamoglu was quick to react to the arrest of his lawyer, writing on Channel X: "It seems that the coup against democracy was not enough. They do not even defend the victims of this coup." /Fars
