The American Foreign Ministry account in Farsi on the X network, on the evening of Friday, November 16, also wrote that the arrest of the well-known opponent Ali Khamenei "also shows that for the Islamic Republic, suppressing the opposition is a higher priority than dealing with the deeper crises of Iran."
