After recent discussions and contacts between the Sultanate of Oman and the United States and relevant officials in Sana'a, Yemen, with the aim of de-escalating tensions, efforts led to a ceasefire agreement between the two sides.
In the future, neither side, including U.S. ships, will target each other in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, which will ensure freedom of navigation and the smooth flow of international commercial shipping.
The Sultanate of Oman appreciates both sides for the constructive approach that led to this pleasant outcome and hopes that this will lead to further progress on many regional issues towards justice, peace and prosperity for all.
