 Rudiger Koch spent 120 days in a submerged capsule off the coast of Panama and came out of it yesterday, he said, with the aim of changing our view of human life and proving that the oceans are a habitable environment.

Powered by solar panels on the roof, the capsule had a bed, toilet, television, computer, and even a stationary bicycle.

The previous record was set by an American man who spent 100 days in an underwater resort in a Florida lagoon.
