UN Security Council meeting on Iran's nuclear program held behind closed doors

IRNA – The United Nations Security Council meeting on the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear program was held behind closed doors on Wednesday evening, while Tehran announced that it had received a letter from US President Donald Trump.

Diplomatic sources said that the United States and its allies had requested a closed-door meeting on Iran's nuclear program on Monday local time, which was held on Wednesday evening local time.

The closed-door meeting was held at the request of the United States and its allies, including Britain, France, South Korea, Greece, and Panama, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is also present.

At the same time, Western diplomats announced that the closed-door meeting would be held to discuss Iran's increasing stockpile of enriched uranium.

According to Western diplomats, the US and its allies have asked the Security Council to discuss Tehran's commitment to provide "necessary information to the International Atomic Energy Agency" in order to "clarify the remaining issues related to unreported nuclear material identified at several locations in Iran".
