 Tehran Prosecutor: Suspects arrested in Tehran University student murder case

 Ali Salehi expressed his condolences to the family of Amir Mohammad Khaleghi, a business management student at Tehran University who was murdered by thieves with cold weapons in a neighborhood near Tehran University's dormitory on Wednesday night, and stated: "The head of the judiciary immediately ordered after this bitter incident that the matter be followed up carefully, seriously, and quickly; therefore, we referred the case to the Special Branch and Special Investigation of Murder for consideration."

Stating that this case is being investigated and monitored immediately, he added: "We have held several meetings with colleagues in the law enforcement field to follow up on this case, and the necessary monitoring is being carried out in this area."

The Tehran Prosecutor's Office, pointing out that unfortunately we have not yet reached the stage of discovering this crime, added: "The suspects in this regard were arrested and investigations are underway. Technical and intelligence work is underway. We are trying to arrest the perpetrator of this crime as soon as possible and bring him to justice for his actions."

 Stressing that the judicial system's response to this matter will definitely be decisive, swift, and in accordance with the law, Salehi said: "Those who commit such crimes and commit such violent acts should know that the judicial system's response to them will be very decisive, serious, and deterrent."

Salehi added: "The Tehran Prosecutor's Office's treatment of perpetrators of specific and violent crimes and armed robbers has been very decisive and without any legal leniency to date. We do not send perpetrators of such crimes even on short-term leave."

He clarified: "We are continuously and moment by moment following up to identify this murderous thief as soon as possible and deal decisively and teach him a lesson."

According to IRNA, Amir Mohammad Khaleghi Darmin, a bachelor's student in business management at the University of Tehran, was attacked by two motorcycle-riding thieves with a cold weapon on Wednesday night, February 14, in the area of ​​Pol Gisha while visiting the university dormitory. Unfortunately, after being transferred to Shariati Hospital by emergency forces, he passed away yesterday morning, Thursday, due to the severity of his injuries.

 The Ministry of Science, the University of Tehran, and the University's Faculty of Management issued separate announcements, expressing deep regret and shock over the occurrence of this unfortunate incident, and calling for a serious and immediate investigation into the matter and dealing with the perpetrators of the student's murder./IRNA
