Although Hashemi Rafsanjani was determined before the 2009 elections to overthrow the current government at any cost and bring his favorite candidate to victory, his family also played an important role in this project.
After writing Besalam's letter, Hashemi Rafsanjani's words in his last Friday prayer are considered the second stage of blowing on the furnace of unrest. In that sermon, he implicitly accepted fraud in the elections and called for the opening of the space for seditionists and their return to the political and press fields.
