The IRGC stated: "Now, the wicked and desperate enemy, failing to achieve its objectives in field combat, is once again pursuing the instillation of fear and street riots; however, a blow firmer than that of January 8 (Dey 18) awaits the Neo-ISIS elements."
Asserting that it had characterized street protests as a "prelude to a military strike" in its first statement, the IRGC labeled protesters as "stateless" (bi-vatan) and threatened: "The round-the-clock struggle against the internal stateless ones is our responsibility."
