Our presence in Syria was based and principled, and our withdrawal was responsible.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Our presence in Syria was based and principled, and our withdrawal was responsible.

In Syria, we did not seek to conquer the country, to dominate and to revive the empires of the past. What was important in Syria was to help ensure the security of the Syrian people in the face of violent extremism.

We were present at the invitation of the established and legal government of Syria, and our presence was advisory, and we were never in Syria to defend any particular group or person.

What was important to us was to help preserve the territorial integrity and stability of Syria. Stability in Syria guarantees stability in the West Asian region.
