ایران عزیز زخم خورده و عزادار است - یادداشت سید مصطفی تاجزاده از زندان اوین

The Machiavellian approach, government based on fear, revealed itself in the most naked form possible in January 2026 and our nation mourned thousands of dear lives.

Seyyed Mustafa Tajzadeh's Note from Evin Prison

The Machiavellian approach of ruling by fear revealed itself in the most naked form possible in January 2026 and left our nation mourning the loss of thousands of lives.

It is a pity that this unprecedented massacre, since the Constitutional Revolution, was both predictable and preventable; of course, if the Supreme Leader had been attentive and had stopped seeking exclusivity and totalitarianism, he would have recognized the people's demands and obeyed the majority's vote and opinion, or resigned and stepped down.

I am very sorry that instead of listening to the voice of the nation, he likened the political arena to a battlefield and then transformed it. He called the protests for the rights of desperate and rebellious citizens a continuation of the 12-day war with Israel and called the protesters agitators who should stay in their places.

Of course, the result of such a bloody order was nothing but the bloodshed of thousands of innocent and defenseless citizens who protested the incompetence, corruption, and illegal eating that were intensifying day by day.

I have no doubt that the official statistics and narrative of what happened in January of this year are a disgraceful lie. Only by forming an independent and national fact-finding committee will the true dimensions of this crime be clarified.

While condemning this mass slaughter and sharing in the grief of each and every one of the bereaved and oppressed families, I offer my condolences to our dear and grieving nation for this heartbreaking and heartbreaking tragedy, and I believe that Iran is still pregnant with great changes.

The status quo has never been sustainable, although unfortunately the direction of change is not entirely clear. Especially since the ominous specter of war still hovers in the sky of our country.

I believe that overcoming the miserable situation that the jurists and the failed clerical government have imposed on the Iranian nation depends on the resistance, intelligence, and responsible action of individual citizens and politicians.
And in the near future, I will share my views on the new situation with the honorable people of our country.
In the hope that ultimately, through national dialogue and a historic understanding, we will overcome this miserable and fragile situation and create a better tomorrow.
With the help of God and the efforts of the nation
