The approval of the IRGC's charter in the Majlis.

A decade later, in the midst of the war, the 15th of Shahrivar 1361 (September 6, 1982) marked the day the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) charter was approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis). This decision defined the legal framework and missions of the organization and received final approval from the Guardian Council on the 18th of Mehr the same year (October 10, 1982).

This legislative milestone formally established the IRGC's constitutional duties, which include guarding the revolution and its achievements and cooperating with other military forces to maintain national security and independence . The approval on this date is considered a key turning point in the official recognition and institutionalization of the IRGC as a principal military force of the state, distinct from the regular army .
