Jamileh Alamolhoda, the wife of the President, stated in her speech at the International Khorshid Festival:

"I have just realized that I have been introduced as the First Lady. I need to clarify that, in the structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the First Lady is the wife of the Supreme Leader.

For years, I have wished to do something to preserve her memories. Fortunately, the people of Mashhad did a good job by turning her house into a museum."
