گفتگوی تلفنی وزرای خارجه ایران و روسیه در مورد تحولات سوریه

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia, had a telephone conversation this afternoon, Saturday, to discuss important regional and international issues, especially the recent developments in Syria.

In this conversation, both sides reiterated their strong support for Syria's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and their backing of the Syrian government and military in their fight against terrorist groups. They emphasized the importance of pursuing this issue within the framework of the Astana process and the necessity of coordination between Iran, Russia, and Turkey as the three guarantor countries of this process

Iran's Foreign Minister, recalling the global community's responsibility in combating the scourge of terrorism, considered the recent movements of terrorist groups in Syrian territory as part of the Israeli and U.S. plot to destabilize the West Asia region. He emphasized the need for vigilance and increased coordination between Iran, Russia, and regional countries, especially Syria's neighbors, to neutralize this dangerous conspiracy and confront the actions of terrorists in Syria and the region.

The Russian Foreign Minister, in turn, assessed the recent developments in Syria and considered coordination among all parties to combat terrorism, as well as the continuation of close consultations between the two countries, as essential.
