The formation and functioning of the first to tenth terms of the parliament are certainly accompanied by numerous criticisms.
Mohammad Mohajeri, Abbas Abdi, and Fayaz Zahed wrote in a joint note in the newspaper Etemad:
The formation and performance of the first to tenth terms of the parliament are certainly accompanied by numerous criticisms; however, the performance of the eleventh and especially the twelfth parliaments in the past year has been very weak and far from the dignity of the National Assembly and the representation of the people of Iran. This record, more than anything else, is due to the unacceptability of the representatives of these two terms, which has led to a regrettable fate with a sharp decline in participation in the elections.
