A distinctive feature of this law is the imposition of very severe and often disproportionate penalties.

Dr. Ali Khaleghi, a lawyer and university professor, referring to the publication of the law "intensification of the punishment for espionage and cooperation with the Zionist regime and hostile countries against national security and interests", wrote in the official newspaper:

The distinctive feature of this law is the determination of very severe and often disproportionate punishments, so that in four articles and one note of this 9-article law, the punishment of "death" is prescribed 6 times for various behaviors and twice this punishment is prescribed as corruption on earth.

From November 9th, sending photos, videos or information to "hostile" networks, human media and virtual pages, and to "alien" networks, human media and virtual pages, if it is against national security, will result in more than two to five years of imprisonment and permanent separation from government and public services.

From the above date, using the Starlink Internet will result in up to 2 years of imprisonment and confiscation of the equipment, and if this is done during war or security situations, the prison sentence can reach up to 15 years.

In this law, the parliament seized the opportunity and for the first time considered illegal marches and gatherings of people during the war as a crime and set a prison term of up to ten years.

It is strange and unprecedented that for the first time regarding the crimes that already existed in the laws and their punishments were intensified in this law, the person who committed them or started to implement them or simply prepared the preparations, has fifteen days from November 9th to "introduce" himself to the relevant institutions, otherwise, in addition to the punishment for that crime, he will be sentenced to more than two to five years in prison for "failure to introduce himself".
