آقای نایب‌رئیس مجلس! به جای شما ما خجالت می‌کشیم

Mr. Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament's son, according to reports that have not been denied

Mohammad Mohajeri wrote on his Telegram channel:

The child of Mr. Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, according to reports that have not yet been denied, 3 to 4 days ago in Vank Square, Tehran, was involved in a traffic violation, collided with a police officer, and injured him.

One day after this incident, Mr. Ali Nikzad is nominated in a public session of the parliament and becomes vice president with a low vote (111 votes). Congratulations!

Since the day of the incident until now, despite numerous media outlets addressing the issue, there has been no word from the wall nor from the Vice President of the Parliament. Well, it’s natural not to expect him to apologize and express regret publicly or to ask forgiveness from the police officer, but not even a two-line explanation is too much to ask. Worse still, the management of the Parliament has conveniently chosen to remain silent on this matter.

It is astonishing that the esteemed commander of the police force has also remained silent. Who are they really considering and why are they spending the credibility of the country's law enforcement on a privileged individual? For what justification should the social capital of the police, which is public trust, be trampled underfoot by a member of parliament and his child?

In the Islamic Republic, if there is any tolerance and forbearance, it should be applied to ordinary citizens, not to officials and their privileged offspring.

On the one hand, it is now the turn of the 111 representatives who voted for him for the vice-presidency to withdraw their votes. After that, if there is any courage, Mr. Nikzad himself should step down from his representation.

It is clear that a child's wrongdoing should not be attributed to the father, but this is true for ordinary people. The two children of the former Deputy Chief of the Judiciary committed violations, and their father resigned. Now, it is also appropriate for the Deputy Speaker of Parliament to resign from his government position for the injury of a police officer by his child and his lack of reaction to it.
